Synaesthetic in Salamanca | Paper Tech | The Festival | Outdoor Rehearsal | In the Theatre | After the Performance | Viewpointing in Salamanca

Synaesthetic arrived at the Castilla y Leon International Arts Festival in Salamanca, Spain on May 31st. We spent the first day and a half enjoying the city and preparing to load into the theatre. All day Saturday (June 2nd) and Sunday (June 3rd) were spent inside the Teatro Caja Duero building the set, focusing the lights and cueing the show. On Sunday at 8:00pm the curtain opened and the sold out performance began. By 10pm we were breaking it all down and getting ready to celebrate. Over the next several days the celebrating continued, we explored (and Viewpointed) the city, and we saw lots of other theatre, music and art. Thanks to all of the amazing people who helped make this production possible, from our wonderful family of donors to the Festival producers and technicians in Spain, to the performers and designers who made K all along the way. Thank You!

In The Theatre

The crate containing our set and costumes arrives in Salamanca 30 days after we loaded it up in New York.

We open the crate to find everything intact. (Hallelujah!)

Viewpointing in Salamanca

Synaesthetic was featured in Pixel 13's installation "Le Bulb" in the Plaza Mayor. We Viewpointed in front of Teatro Caja Duero, Joy was interviewed and they did a stop motion video short of our set being put together and lights being hung. Below are photos from that Viewpoints session.

On our second to last night in Salamanca members of Synaesthetic held a Viewpoints session in the courtyard of The Convento de San Esteban, a 16th century convent built by Juan de Alava.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make our international debut possible!
